Commission Launches EU Talent Pool Pilot Initiative to Help Ukrainians Secure Employment in EU
By launching such a tool, the Commission aims for the swift and effective integration of citizens of Ukraine into the labour market so that they can more quickly rebuild their lives, gain financial independence, and preserve their skills, AtoZSerwisPlus.pl reports.
“The EU Talent Pool Pilot is a job-searching online tool for people fleeing the war in Ukraine who are looking for a job in the EU. It helps identify and map their skills and facilitates their matching with EU employers,” the statement of the Commission reads.
According to the Commission, the EU Talent Pool Pilot will be implemented through the EURES portal, which contains more than 3 million job vacancies and 4,000 employers.
It has been explained that once registered, jobseekers will be able to upload their CVs on the EURES portal and highlight their relevant skills.
When registering on the job-searching tool, nationals of Ukraine will be required to tick a box implying their status as temporary protection beneficiaries in one of the EU Member States. In addition, they will be required to tick the box indicating the country in which they are benefiting from adequate protection.
During this process, everyone will be able to consult the EURES Advisers from countries that are participating in the Pilot for any assistance they may need.
Once the registration has been completed, the profiles of the candidates will be made available to employers, national public employment services, and private employment agencies across the EU. This way, the jobseekers will be able to browse available vacancies.
Explaining the eligibility, the Commission said that all Ukrainian jobseekers benefiting from temporary protection or adequate protection under national law providing them the right to work in the EU Member State in which they are registered can benefit from the Talen Pool Pilot.
“Eligible jobseekers are those granted temporary protection under the EU Temporary Protection Directive or adequate protection under national law providing them the right to work,” the Commission stressed.
Since the participation of the Member States in the EU Talent Pool is voluntary, the Commission has not given a list of participating Member States but rather has suggested that everyone consults the map on the Pilot’s website.
Previously, AtoZSerwisPlus.pl reported that Poland and Germany ranted the highest number of temporary protections to Ukrainians in August 2022. Eurostat shows that 67,280 Ukrainians obtained temporary protection in Poland in August, whereas another 62,140 gained temporary protection in Germany.
