France Confirms No New Visa Fees for Algerians as Capago Takes Over Application Processing
Capago International, the newly appointed visa application service provider for French visas in Algeria, has confirmed that visa fees will remain unchanged for Algerian nationals. While the base cost of French Schengen visas remains fixed, Capago has announced that it will introduce a pricing structure reflecting the optional services offered to applicants. A detailed price list is expected to be made public shortly.
Capago to Handle High Volume of Visa Applications in Algeria
According to the General Consul, Capago International will handle visa processing in line with the volume determined by French consulates. The Algiers consulate is expected to see the highest volume, processing between 100 and 1,200 visa applications daily, making it the busiest French consular office in Algeria.
Data from AtoZSerwisPlus shows that in 2023, around 279,000 French visa applications were submitted from Algeria:
- Algiers Consulate: 152,411 applications (54.6%)
- Oran Consulate: 73,215 applications (26.2%)
- Annaba Consulate: 53,379 applications (19.1%)
Visa Approvals and Rejections: Mixed Trends for Algerians
As of 2024, the number of French visas granted to Algerians has increased by 20%, indicating growing demand and processing activity. However, France continues to be the leading EU country in terms of visa rejections for Algerians, accounting for 56% of all denied Schengen visas submitted by Algerian applicants in 2023.
Current French Visa Fees for Algerian Citizens in 2025
For 2025, visa fees remain:
- €90 for adults
- €45 for children aged 6–11
- Free for children under 6
In addition, Algerians must pay a non-refundable service fee of €29, regardless of whether the visa is approved or denied.
Once an appointment is confirmed, the fee must be paid within 72 hours. If payment is not completed in this timeframe, the slot will be automatically cancelled and re-opened for other applicants.
