The Hellenic Republic’s Northern Aegean Regional Governor, Konstantinos Moutzouris, has proposed extending the visa-on-arrival program for non-Schengen visitors, including Turkish nationals, throughout 2025. The program, introduced on April 1, 2024, allows Turkish nationals to visit ten Greek islands with a single-entry visa for €60, bypassing the need for a Schengen visa. The islands included in the program are:

From January to the first week of July 2024, 182,000 Turkish nationals visited Greece, contributing significantly to the country’s economy. Of these, 35,000 visitors utilized the visa-on-arrival program by the beginning of August.
