

Poland Prolongs Flight Ban on Nine Countries to December 31
Authorities in Poland have decided to prolong the ban on international flights previously imposed on nine countries, until December 31, 2020, due to the Coronavirus situation in their territories.
Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Montenegro, Armenia, Jordan, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia and the United States (excluding Illinois and New York), will be prohibited from entering Poland until the end of this month,
Poland’s government has clarified that from the ban will be excluded only citizens coming from the European Union member states, the Schengen Zone as well as those coming from the countries in the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA).
Last month, Poland’s administration introduced the ban on international flights for nine of the countries mentioned above and Argentina. The ban was set to last until November 24.

In a bid to mitigate the damages provoked by the disease, Poland previously restricted entry for the citizens of 34 countries, in which the Coronavirus cases had marked an increase at the time. The decision was kept in place until November 10.
On September 30, on its updated no-fly list, Poland decided to permit flights from countries of the European Schengen Zone.
Based on the list of September 30, Poland authorities stressed that Brazil, Israel and the United States will still remain in the no-fly list. According to the report, North Macedonia, India, the United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Oman and Trinidad and Tobago were expected to be added to this list.
Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki previously announced that the country would keep restaurants, theatres, cinemas and gyms closed until December 27, amid the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Morawiecki stressed that the government decided to follow the recommendations of epidemiologists and extend its lockdown imposed in the culture, gastronomy and fitness sector. Poland’s Prime Minister back then also highlighted that schools across the country would also be closed until December 23.
Up to this point, a total of 1,076,180 persons have contracted the Coronavirus pandemic in Poland. From the deadly virus have been reported 20,592 deaths in the country, while there are 316,743 active cases, according to the figures published by Worldometers.
As yet, more than 738,800 persons have been recovered from the COVID-19 disease.
