Belarus has announced an extension of its visa-free travel regime for citizens of 38 European countries, allowing entry via land borders until December 31, 2025. This measure enables nationals from neighboring Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland, as well as Germany, Italy, France, and others, to enter Belarus without a visa.
The Belarusian Border Committee clarified that visa-free entry can be used an unlimited number of times, with temporary stays capped at 30 days per visit. Since the program's implementation in 2022, over a million European citizens have visited Belarus, with Lithuania and Latvia ranking among the top source countries for visitors.
This decision contrasts with the EU's newly imposed sanctions on Belarusian individuals due to the regime's involvement in Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
