Poland. Citizens of the world can now apply for Business Harbor visas
The Polish Investment and Trade Agency, the Prime Minister's Plenipotentiary, and the Minister of Education and Science participated in a press conference on Monday, September 5, 2022, where they announced the extension of the government program Poland. It was announced that Business Harbor (PBH), which is devoted to professionals and businesses in the IT sector as well as in the field of cutting-edge technologies and innovations.
A haven for highly skilled professionals
The PBH initiative, which has been in effect for two years, was first created to assist Belarusian businesses and professionals relocate due to the unsteady political climate in Belarus following the falsified election results in 2020. Following then, the program was opened up to residents of six other nations: Ukraine, Russia, Armenia, Moldova, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. Throughout 55,000 visas were issued and nearly 49,000 workers were transported to Poland over the course of the program, 35,000 of them arrived in Poland after the start of the Ukrainian conflict.
As Justyna Orowska, the Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister for GovTech, noted, around 300 Polish enterprises have profited from this program by hiring IT workers, for whom there is currently a significant shortage. On the Polish market, there are still about 100,000 specialists in need of employment. The fact that several dozen startups moved to Poland in just two years and developed into successful businesses was also stressed.
Extending into Poland Program Business Harbor
Specialists, start-ups, and small and medium-sized businesses from all over the world can take advantage of the PBH program starting on September 5. The citizenship of the alien is no longer important. The program accepts applications from organizations working not only in the information technology sector but also in other strategic fields connected to the transfer of new technologies. However, in the latter scenario, the Polish Trade and Investment Agency (PAiH) will decide whether to accept an application and will evaluate each application on its own merits to determine whether a particular investment is strategic for Poland.
