How can I get a job as a foreign driver in Poland?
There are a plethora of work openings in Poland for Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Asia (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam) labour migrants. All job openings differ in terms of the field and type of work, as well as the requirements that the business presents to the candidate. You can apply for jobs in manufacturing, warehouses, or the food business if you don't have any work experience or necessary talents. However, if you have a valid driver's licence and at least some driving experience, you may be able to get work as a driver in Poland. We'll discuss how to obtain a job as a driver in Poland, how to get a job as a truck driver in Poland without experience, and international driver jobs in this post.
Taxes and Salary Levels
Poland's wage structure differs significantly from that of Ukraine. Working as a driver in Poland will obviously earn you significantly more money than working in Ukraine in a similar role. Foreigners are eligible for a minimum wage that ranges from $600 to $1200.
Professionals with low compensation include waiters, janitors, security guards, and others.
There are three groups of the most in-demand occupations for which Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Asia (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam) migrants might apply:
- specialists with advanced qualifications;
- handymen;
- specialists with certain skills or vast experience.
In Poland, working as a truck driver falls within the last group. You'll need a driver's licence and experience driving heavy vehicles to acquire a job in this area and drive an automobile. That is why Polish drivers earn a lot of money: a monthly salary of up to 7000 PLN per month.
The amount of taxes depends on the level of salary and for an international driver it is 17%.
What are the driving requirements?
In Poland, drivers can work in taxis, buses, and trucks, among other modes of transportation. Each type of driver has its own set of requirements. The larger the vehicle, the more classifications and permits you'll need to get a driver's job in Poland.
Cab drivers have the lowest standards. To get a job, you'll need a valid driver's licence, a valid licence, and at least a basic understanding of Polish.
A job as a bus or truck driver is significantly more difficult to come by in Poland. You must receive a category of truck driver's licence, a driver's card for the tachograph, and convince the company that you have prior truck driving experience before applying for a job. If you plan to operate a truck that weighs more than 3 tonnes, you'll need to have additional training, paperwork (Code 95), and a certificate of competency.
"It is important to note that becoming a truck driver is not an easy job. A candidate for this position should be aware of the lengthy hours he will be on the road, as well as the absence of adequate housing quarters and irregular working hours."
How can you acquire a job as a truck driver if you have no prior experience?
It is possible to work as a truck driver in Poland without any prior experience. Given that some firms need candidates to complete an internship before applying for a job, the greatest thing you can ask of a candidate is that they produce all required paperwork and credentials. And, because you can acquire a job as a driver without any experience, you should be aware that the pay will be slightly lower than that of experienced drivers. But how can you get a job as a truck driver if you have no prior experience? We propose gaining at least some driving experience in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Asia (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam) and finding work through an international job portal. This way, you'll be able to notify the boss right away that you've never driven a big truck before, and the position will be assigned to you based on your qualifications.
How to Become a Polish Minibus Driver
Before applying for a job as a minibus driver in Poland, you must first receive the relevant category as well as a driver's licence. If you plan to work in Poland for more than six months, you must obtain a Polish driver's licence or have your Ukrainian driver's licence changed. The majority of employers demand that you know Polish, however you should double-check this criterion with each employer.
Is it necessary to know a foreign language?
Although it is possible to work as a truck driver in Poland without learning the language, you will need at least a basic understanding of English if you want to work as an international driver. When it comes to trips inside the country, the employer expects a basic understanding of the Polish language at the time of hire.
What is your work schedule like?
The sort of vehicle a driver works on determines his or her work schedule. Cab drivers can work in the evenings as well as during the day. Their working hours are entirely dependent on them. Working in a cab is typically thought of as an evening part-time employment by most migrant workers.
"In Europe, a truck driver's working day can run anywhere from 10 to 12 hours, with rest time in between. Although the working day may not be rationed in some situations, overtime is always paid by the employer. As a result, people who desire to earn more can take advantage of this chance."
Working on international routes
Poland will always need long-haul drivers, as this country is the largest exporter in Europe. Because of the shortage of drivers among Poles, Poland actively recruits drivers abroad from other countries. The main requirements are a valid passport, open categories B, C, E, as well as the availability of the following documents:
- tachograph chip card;
- ADR (not an obligatory document, but it may increase the number of possible job offers and influence the level of salary offered). Usually such courses last a little over a week;
- Code 95 (?wiadectwo kwalifikacji zawodowej);
- Medical certificate (Orzeczenie lekarskie);
- psychotests for the driver (Badania psychologiczne kierowcy).
